What to do when your train from Chiang Mai to Bangkok left you.

I haven’t experienced traveling via train for 13 hours, so, we decided to take one. A land travel from Chiang Mai to Bangkok. It’s a little bit expensive compared to a sleeping bus (which cost 596 THB), and 837 THB for the first-class train. Plus, a lot of people told us that it’s a very comfortable way of traveling and cheaper than a plane.

We were excited that we left our guest house an hour before our train supposed to leave. And that was a big mistake. Though our place is located inside the old city, it is quite near the station, normally a 15minutes travel, however, it was raining heavily that time and the traffic were so bad. SONGKRAN FESTIVAL: Celebrating Thai New Year.

The most awaited festival here in Thailand is Songkran; It is a public holiday celebrated on the 12th of April but the official holiday is on the 13th. In the afternoon of the 12th, people start to party and throw water to anyone! There is plenty of street battles and parties mixed with the traditional side of Songkran.
