Life gets boring sometimes. And we don’t really know the cause of why we feel it. Perhaps, our lifestyle is patterned and routined, or we are stuck in a career that we don’t enjoy anymore, or we are simply limited in trying new experiences, or the most painful one, no money to be happy.
There is a study that focuses on what makes people feel fully alive and excited. It says that people feel fully alive when having sex, purchasing new things, or traveling. Through these instances, our brain produces hormones like dopamine, serotonin and endorphins that makes us happy and lively.
Let’s talk about those three things: sex, buying new things, and traveling.
I am not married so I am not going to focus about sex- this pure experience is only reserved for married couple. I hope that we will wait until we get married and experience the gift of sex, without guilt, only bliss
Second would be purchasing new things. This is quite controversial because no person could really purchase everything. So at the end of the line, there is an end in this happiness. In fact, sometimes people becomes crazy and feel depressed if they don’t get what they want. People who always buy new things eventually craves for more.
So, I am left with the last, that is traveling. When we travel, we get the excitement of experiencing new things, meeting different kind of people, and seeing new landscapes. These things are stuck in our memories like photo albums and we could recall it even after how many years had past. Unlike purchasing things that fades in time, these feelings last forever.
People always accompany traveling with money. If you have money then you can travel, if no, then you can’t. However, this kind of travel only pertains to luxury travel or overseas travel. Traveling is not limited to money. In fact, there are some who traveled with less or even zero money. Try searching it on youtube, some people give tips if you want to start one.
For me, I decided to live in the latter one. I left my job in the Philippines to go with an adventure of a lifetime. Together with my four friends, we decided to go and see the nations outside our borders. Bringing the glory of God with us while we travel, we feel fully alive. We’ve been to Bangkok Thailand, Kuala Lumpur Malaysia, Vientiane Laos, and now we are living in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Chiang Mai is one of the most beautiful places here in Thailand, plus it’s very cheap compared to other places. I would like to share with you some of the places here especially their hippie cafés(their coffee makes you fully alive). I also have further plans to go to Cambodia and Vietnam this year.
